- GREAT! The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) lists Respiratory Care as the 4th
fastest growing occupation in Pennsylvania requiring post secondary education or an
associate degree and 10th in the country. BLS projects a 35% increase in demand for
respiratory therapists through 2012.
3. WHAT IS THE SALARY RANGE FOR A RESPIRATORY THERAPIST?
- According to Salary.com (July 2007), the average salary range for an RT in Lancaster
County area is $48,000-$55,000/year.
4. WHAT DO I GET AT THE END OF 2 YEARS?
- Upon completion of the program you will receive an Associate of Science Degree and the
ability to sit for the Upper Level (RRT) National Exam. Many schools require an additional
year to become a Registered Therapist – Stevens does it all in just 2 years!
5. WHEN I GRADUATE, CAN I IMMEDIATELY START AS A RESPIRATORY THERAPIST?
- Upon graduation, you have to apply for a state license and sit for the National Boards to
work as a Respiratory Therapist.
